creation begin and we have seen all of the jobs lost during the four years of the obama administration regained. that is what you are going to hear from president obama at 8:30 this morning when the jobs numbers come out. we are certain it will be positive, create 125,000 jobs. if it's less than 100, republicans are going pounce on that. if it's more than 150 or close to 200, obama administration is going to go on that. what you are going to hear about is the unemployment rate, 7.8%. it drops, probably going go to 7.9%. christine will explain why the job loss and creation numbers are different from unemployment. the bar chart is the more important number. the bottom line is, all you are going to hear is spend and we are going tell you what matters. it is going to be a deciding factor for many voters. >> the jobs number is a number you see. you have been on the ground in ohio. we want to know what it feels like there when it comes to jobs. what are people saying? >> reporter: yeah. so, you know ohio has been hard hit. i was in youngstown, the second biggest deal maker in the country aft
. it was taken over by obama in the meantime. the a bomb administration picking up for bush came up with a deal to save three companies, general motors, chrysler and delphi. what is delphi? delphi is the old telco auto parts division of gm. you know delco batteries. we had gm that desperate to cut off its own parts and set off delphi as a separate company which immediately pretty quickly went bankrupt. well, down went the vulture's and they pick.delphi corp. out of bankruptcy court for 67 cents, a darned good deal for the entire auto parts division of general motors. 67 cents a share. within two years they flipped it. they went public at $22 a share. share. that is it 3200% prophet that they weren't done. they weren't done. delphi had 29 plans in the u.s. and the delphi group sold it back to gm and the rest, every single plant was sold, was sent off to china. every single uaw job, everyone, 25,200 uaw workers including -- i got a call from michael moore. his dad had the delphi plant and flint michigan. every job sent to china, every one. now that was not the plan. obama's administration came up

before unloading, that's supposed to expedite things and the obama administration has issued a temporary blanket waiver on the jones act which will allow additional oil tankers coming from the gulf of mexico to enter the ports up here. recall this was a big deal during katrina. the jones act requires all vessels carrying products between u.s. ports to fly under the u.s. flag, be built in the u.s., and be crude mostly be u.s. citizens the fact they're waiving that will hopefully expedite more fuel in here. what are they doing on the ground? trying to get the power to restored to gas stations that don't have power. you can't pump gas if you don't have power. power is restored to the terminals to get the fuel, of course, on to the trucks. that's a priority. now, there are trucks moving and there is gas here. the issue are those other two issues really kind of slowing things down and then by the way, we still have some of these huge massive refineries taken off-line trying to get them up and running but that could be a while as well. this part of the country consumes more oil, more gas, than

for the obama administration is married women. they are less dependent on the government, and less likely to buy the president's argument. so they're the group want obama campaign is really worried about. when i talk to the married women, on the one hand they say they think romney can handle the economy and they're worried about the republicans being too extreme and go back and forth. the romney campaign is trying to get them to drop this and think about this at the last minute. there are a small number of undecided voters -- and the question of trust. he was saying trust is a matter central to the presidency, measure important than anything else, and trying to tie that to this notion of romney changing his positions. that was also a pitch to women. romney's pitch, bipartisanship. >> schieffer: let me bring up this, a spent friday, spent a good part of the day with stu rothen bargain, and charlie cook, and i would these are the most respected analysts going today. both told me separately they could not remember a time this deep into the campaign when they said they had no idea how this was going
to address the panel. you know have six prosecutions in the obama administration after three prior to -- after three prior prosecutions. you now have a press that is not just the new york times, not just the "washington post," but wikileaks, individuals no longer needing the mainstream media to put documents, formerly classified documents into the public environment. so it is a changing landscape on both sides. different kind of media and i think a different attitude in government, at least that is what appears to us. the rise and concerns about terrorism and then the concern for government secrecy, and the ability to transfer large amounts of data electronically. you know, if you think back to the pentagon papers, daniel ellsworth has to come to the new york times or a paper like the new york times to get the secret's out, and that was the only way to make them public, not so now. when the government wanted to do terrible things, they actually had to send people to break into his psychiatrist office. no longer necessary. they now have other tools for doing those kinds of things. i
. this is something that the obama administration talks about a lot. the president took office, there were losing hundreds of thousands of jobs at the end of the bush administration into the obama administration. and now the fight has been, the political fight has been over the durability of the recovery and jobs since then. when you go to the right of that chart you can see we have been adding jobs now for two years but we haven't been adding necessarily enough jobs to every month keep up with the increase of people in the working-age population, and to recover all of those jobs that had been lost. so that's where we stand right now. 125,000 jobs is the forecast for today. about an hour and a half, and 7.9% is the unemployment rate. it's the last big hurdle before the election. the last big piece of economic news for both campaigns, and for people to weigh before they make the decision on who to vote for. >> it's not just economic news. it has all the political implications. especially in the final days. that chart we've seen on the political campaign on both sides of the debate. christine, than
on jobs, did the obama administration try something similar to your jobs for all program with a seamless package? how do you compare the two? rozum: no, because the stimulus was not meant to be a permanent public jobs program and the cost of those jobs were skyhigh. it cost almost $800 billion, yet another jobs created or saved for only 3 million. the numbers we're talking are similar, 800 million, 800 billion, excuse me but to greet over 10 million jobs. and so direct public employment is a little different than giving tax breaks to companies, to create jobs. because the job creators aren't getting it done. they are not creating jobs. >> moderator: dan the thick, a follow up on jobs. you think under a second obama administration, should you return to washington could you create a more favorable tax environment for businesses or hospitals to grow so that could be more jobs? maffei: there's no question tax reform would be very, very important and if you think we need to lower rates but get rid of a lot of loopholes, particularly corporate loopholes, the ones that ship jobs overseas. cease
